Susie Murphy is an Irish historical fiction author.
She loves historical fiction so much that she often wishes she had been born two hundred years ago. Still, she remains grateful for many aspects of the modern age, including women’s suffrage, electric showers and pizza.
Susie’s debut novel, A Class Apart, was published in July 2018 as the first volume in her historical fiction series A Matter of Class. It was subsequently shortlisted in the 2023 Irish CAP Awards. Her second book, A Class Entwined, came out in February 2019. Her third book, A Class Forsaken, was released in August 2020 and was selected as an Editors’ Choice by the Historical Novel Society in the February 2021 issue of Historical Novels Review. The fourth book in her series, A Class Coveted, came out in November 2021 and the fifth book, A Class Reunited, came out in November 2022. Susie’s sixth book, A Class Inherited, was released in November 2023.
Susie is currently working on her seventh book, A Class Divided. This story was originally intended to be just one book but Susie’s characters have insisted that there will now be at least eight volumes in the series.

Here are a few more facts about Susie:
She doesn’t drink tea or coffee (but swears she really is Irish).
She has lived for a substantial time in seven different counties in Ireland – she now resides in Meath but she’s from Tipperary.
She can recite all the colours in Joseph’s Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at top speed in one breath.
She wrote her first ‘novel’ when she was eleven. Entitled The Rabbits’ Journey, it was eleven pages long and an unashamed plagiarism of Watership Down.
